BFY is live! We’re up and running with a very simple site to showcase the fabulous branding created by Fernando Mateus . We’ll be adding content, teachers and technology over the coming weeks. Our goal: to provide yoga and meditation practices which help improve your performance at work, in the sports and outdoor pursuits you enjoy and to help you relax, stay present and sleep better.
BFY highlights yoga and meditation’s positive and significant impact on endurance, performance, longevity and injury-avoidance for people living an active lifestyle. Additionally, classes are available for those new to physical activity, offering an introduction to balance, cardio, focus and strength exercise.
Unlike activities which require little or no instruction for beginners, technique, alignment and modification are very important for yoga practitioners. Hundreds of yoga poses target multiple muscle groups; building strength, flexibility and resilience; protecting us from back pain and arthritis; improving posture; preventing cartilage and joint breakdown; improving bone health and blood flow; lowering blood pressure; and improving balance, coordination and reaction times. The flow between each pose in a sequence (for example, jumping back or forward, transitioning from standing to seated poses) adds cardio development to yoga practice, increasing heart rate, building strength and stamina.
BFY teachers are on hand to guide you through every step, jump and breath - and to ensure the journey is as enjoyable as it is rewarding.
